Part of a series I'm doing for my gallery show in June. It's called "Still Shamed - Why the Fight Must Go On."
I had the idea for these because I have gained a little weight recently and its showing up mostly around my chin, which is bothering me because I don't like how it looks, even though I am proud of my size. I know I'm not the only proud BBW who feels this way about some part of their body, so I decided to bring these feelings to light in a series of drawings. In each drawing, the woman is wearing a charm of a bigger female figure (based on some Goddess imagery, actually) to signify that she is generally proud of her body, but she is covering the part she still feels insecure about with her hands.
I'm not sure how many of these I'm going to do, but I'm definitely having fun with them, and I hope they are well recieved at the show.
I must admit that in my "Self Unseen" It was the first time to come to grips with my weight...but I am losing weight now but I have loved your work cause it is well done and beautiful...
Your art is wonderful. Keep up the good work.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
