Does anyone else remember the movie "Splash," with Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah? ( [link] ) It came out the year I was born, and I LOVED it as a kid, and still love it now.
This is my re-imagining of the main characters, Allen and Madison, as BBW lesbians. And I made Madison more tribal and badass, because mermaids like that are awesome. Not that mermaids aren't awesome in general, but still.
I loved that movie so much when I was little (when did it come out? I was born in 1980), I wanted to name my potential offspring Madison. then in high school I started hearing that it was becoming a popular name & was pretty ticked off about it, lol.
I love that you made her more tribal. her character definitely had that aspect; the part where she destroys a lobster at dinner is the best.

Thanks! So glad to find someone else who loved this movie It came out in 1984, which was when I was born, coincidentally. I also loved the lobster bit, and felt they alluded to a more tribal life (except for when they show the city at the end).

Look at arson - I mean, how many of us can honestly say that at one time or another he hasn't set fire to some great public building? I know I have.
