Another for the 100 Themes challenge. This is for number 62 - Magic.
I'm honestly not sure why I decided to depict specifically bardic magic for this one; maybe it was because bards tend to get a bad rap, and they are in essence powerful magical people, even though their magic is more subtle than the raw, obvious power of a sorcerer or wizard. So anyway, here's Rasurda again, calling up that magic through her song and dance.
I had fun with this one, and though something about her face bothers me, I think it came out pretty well. So yay
PS: You really can get an incredible amount of milage out of one color. =3 I think the expression looks fine. I also like the non-stereotypical musical instruments.
Heheh! Whenever I hear "Duel of the Fates" from the Star Wars films on my computer, I picture Elan calling upon an entire troupe of bards to help Roy during a climatic battle. And the old elven orchestra director would look sternly at Elan, nod once, and then address the troupe. "Ladies, gentlemen. Duel of the Fates!"
Well, it's fun to picture, at least.
Lovely drawing. I like her dress and drum.

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

...I love how the background lights up around the music note. And Rasurda's expression.
